What we do
Heating and cooling repair, installation and tune-ups across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties
Every job starts with an honest diagnosis and a flat-rate price you approve before we start.

Furnace Repair & Installation
No heat, short cycling, strange noises, or a furnace past its prime. Fast repair and high-efficiency Lennox and Rheem installs.

Air Conditioning
AC not cooling, freezing up, or running nonstop. Honest repairs, right-sized replacements, and $89 precision tune-ups.

Boilers & Radiators
Many Milwaukee pre-war homes still run hot-water or steam radiators. We repair, replace and balance those systems every week.
Water Heaters
Repair and replacement of tank and tankless water heaters, sized for how your household actually uses hot water.
Ductwork & Duct Cleaning
Uneven rooms, dust and weak airflow usually trace back to the ducts. We design, repair, seal and clean them.
Commercial HVAC
Rooftop units, restaurants, shops and small buildings across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Maintenance plans that keep you open.
24/7 Emergency Service
No heat on a January night is not a wait-until-Monday problem. Nights, weekends and holidays, calls ring Mike’s cell, not a call center.

Ready when you are:
How it works
What happens when you call A-1
1
You call or text, any hour
A person answers 414-595-5175, not a call center. We ask a few quick questions and give you a real arrival window, not a guess.
2
We find the actual problem
We test before we replace anything and show you the readings, so you can see what failed and why.
3
You approve a flat-rate price
You get the price before any work starts, with repair and replacement options in writing when both make sense. No hourly surprises.
4
We fix it, test it and clean up
Most repairs are finished on the first visit. We test the system, clean up after ourselves and explain what we did.
The A-1 difference
Repair or replace? Here’s exactly how we decide.
Every HVAC company says it’s honest. We publish the actual checklist we use on a Milwaukee furnace, so you can see the reasoning and hold us to it. You get it on paper before you pay for anything.
We say replace when
- The heat exchanger is cracked (a safety issue, not a judgment call)
- The repair costs more than half of a new system and the unit is 15+ years old
- It keeps failing: two or three service calls in one winter
We say repair when
- One common part failed on a system that is otherwise sound
- The fix is a fraction of replacement and buys real years
- The unit is sized right for your house and otherwise sound
“When you call A-1, you get me, not a call center. I’ll tell you what’s wrong, what it costs, and what I’d do if it were my own house. That’s the whole business model.”

Questions Milwaukee homeowners ask us
Do you really answer the phone 24/7?
Yes. After-hours calls ring Mike’s cell, and for no-heat and no-cool emergencies we come out nights, weekends and holidays. Routine installs and tune-ups are scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Call 414-595-5175.
What does a service call cost?
$99 on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and $179 nights, weekends and holidays. That covers the trip and the diagnosis. Then you get a flat-rate price for the repair before any work starts. You approve the number first. No hourly billing, no surprise line items, and the repair is guaranteed for one year, parts and labor. Typical Milwaukee prices for new equipment are in our HVAC price guide.
Will you try to sell me a new system?
Only if the checklist says so, and we show you the checklist. Most of the furnaces we see can be repaired, and we’d rather fix yours for a few hundred dollars than replace it for thousands you didn’t need to spend.
Do you work on boilers and radiators?
Every week. Bay View, Wauwatosa, West Allis, Shorewood and much of the South Side still run hot-water or steam radiators, and we repair, replace and balance those systems.
Do you serve Waukesha County?
Yes. Brookfield, New Berlin, Waukesha, Muskego, Pewaukee, Menomonee Falls and the surrounding communities are all in our regular service area, along with every city in Milwaukee County.
Can you help with rebates and financing?
Yes. We’ll tell you which Wisconsin rebates and manufacturer promotions your project may qualify for, and we offer financing on approved credit through Marine Credit Union (including 0% APR for 18 months on qualifying installs; no down payment, 18 equal monthly payments), Wells Fargo or our in-house plan.
